About Our Test
The Xfree™ COVID-19 Direct RT-PCR is a real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from SARS-CoV-2 in nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab samples from individuals suspected of COVID-19 infection.
In accordance with provisions in the CARES Act, and to help you determine what you can expect to pay, we have made our COVID-19 diagnostic test price list available.
Please note under the direction of the CARES Act, many insurance plans cover COVID-19 testing at no cost to their members.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR INSURED PATIENTS
After your COVID-19 test(s), you may receive an Explanation of Benefits letter (EOB) from your insurance company – this is not a bill and does NOT mean you owe a balance to Newport Labs for your COVID-19 test(s). Your insurance company’s payment will be treated as a payment in full, based on current regulations under the CARES Act and FFCRA. You are not responsible for paying any outstanding balance shown on your EOB. If you provided us with insurance information when you registered for your appointment, you won’t pay anything out-of-pocket.

Results are generally available within 24 hours from the time samples have been received by Newport Labs.
Who pays for testing?
If you have insurance coverage, most insurance companies cover the cost of your test, the payment will be treated as a payment in full, based on current regulations under the CARES Act and FFCRA. You can also pay for the test out of pocket.
